The Trustees of the Mark Benevolent Fund held emergency discussions this week in response to the devastating hurricanes that are battering the Caribbean and surrounding areas. £35,000 has been donated to the ShelterBox charity to fund 1,000 ShelterKits for the affected residents in the region. Many have had their homes decimated over successive weather fronts and there is more bad weather on the way. The ShelterKits provide tools, ropes and heavy-duty tarpaulins to quickly repair existing structures.
Mark Masons’ Hall is proud to have many Brethren in the Caribbean representing all of the Orders administered here, many of whom are in the worst hit parts. In some cases we are still unable to get in touch due to poor communications. We send our thoughts and prayers during these difficult times and hope our friends and colleagues are safe and well. We are doing all we can and will keep you updated on any further developments.
