Cranley Lodge of MMM No. 1616 – 9th April 2018

 

On 9th April 2018 both the PGM, RW Bro Richard Olliver, GMRAC and the DepPGM, VW Bro Graham Seeman, PGJO visited the Cranley Lodge of MMM No. 1616 at their Installation meeting.

Firstly The PGM awarded the Lodge with the Mark Benevolent Fund Grand Patron Gold Award thanking the Brethren for their great generousity.

Secondly RW Bro John Wright, President of the Mark Benenolent Fund gave a very moving eulogy to RW Bro Michael Lawson who sadly passed away on 17th October 2017. RW Bro John described him as a giant amongst freemasons due to all the work he did behind the scenes in many of the orders.

Thirdly the Lodge balloted for two Honorary Members, RW Bro Alan Brunning, PPGM, a founder of the Lodge and W Bro Max Cronin, the Secretary from 2003 to 2015. They also balloted for four joining members and reported that there were 2 candidates in the pipeline.

Fourthly the PGM presented a Grand Lodge Certificate to Bro Norman Birkitt (2nd right) who was Advanced at their last meeting on 16th October 2017.

Then we got to the main event of the evening when W Bro Brian McCormack (2nd right) Installed W Bro Tim Smith (middle) in a most sincere and excellent manner.

All in all a very busy evening which was followed by the usual sumptuous meal in the Windsor Guildhall. All present then left for their journey home after a most enjoyable meeting and festive board.
