Berkshire & Oxfordshire Installed Commanders Lodge No.1330 Virtual Business Meeting - Tuesday 1st June 2021

With Jersey Royal Ark Mariners only having a social gathering on 2nd June and Wallingford Mark hoping to lead the way in the resumption of physical face to face meetings on 30th June the 23 brethren present on the  zoom meeting of the Berkshire & Oxfordshire Installed Commanders Lodge held on 1st June 2021 may have been witnessing the final Virtual Business Meeting in the Province..

The Presiding Officer W.Bro. Pat Leonard declared the meeting open promptly at 7.00pm.

The Letter of Permission and Dispensation were read by W.Bro. Huw Hopkin acting as Scribe.

Eulogies to W.Bro. Peter Lloyd and W.Bro. Frank Hames were delivered by W.Bro. Brian Cook and W.Bro. Mike Sanders respectfully.

The main business of the evening was the re-election of W.Bro. Pat Leonard as Worshipful Commander and W.Bro. Mike Sanders as Treasurer. Both thanked the brethren and looked forward with optimism to the year ahead.

The Treasurer delivered the good news that due to the fee discount from Grand Lodge and the revised Masonic Centre quotas the subscription increase given by Notice of Motion at the last meeting would now not require implementation.

An update on the activities of BeMBA was given on this occasion by the chairman W.Bro. Graham Seeman, Dep.P.G.M.

The search for a new Scribe yielded no willing volunteers of those present and the acting Scribe undertook to write to all the members in the hope of finding a ‘young enthusiastic volunteer’ to fill this exciting and rewarding position.

The P.G.M. thanked all those in attendance and hoped that prevailing conditions would allow sufficient easing of the Covid 19 measures so as to enable resumption of face to face meeting by the end of June.

There being no other business the Presiding Officer declared the meeting closed at 7.31pm.
