The Long Walk

Peter Sands completes second leg of Long Walk.

Immediate Past PGM RW Bro Peter Sands is walking, with his dog Milo, between each Masonic Centre in Berkshire. He had been seeking sponsorship to raise funds for the Mark Benevolent Fund Berkshire 2017 Festival. Peter set off on the second leg from Sindlesham Court at 09:00 on Sunday 13th July, with Milo enthusiastically in the lead. Following the Kennet and Avon Canal, by way of lunch at the Rowbarge in Woolhampton (occasioning some delay as a large crowd had gathered for a duck race), Peter and Milo completed the 24 miles in very sultry conditions, to arrive at Newbury Masonic Centre around 16:45. They were greeted by Hungerford Lodge members John Peck (PM and Treasurer) and Paul Wilding (IPM), and John Gilbert who happened to be passing. Peter was presented with a cheque for £100 in support of the Mark Benevolent Fund Berkshire 2017 Festival. Tired but happy, Peter thanked the Lodge for their support, and confirmed that he and Milo were looking forward to the next leg: Sunday 20th July, leaving Newbury Masonic Centre 09:00 to walk to Wantage Masonic Centre. Peter reminded everyone that he would be happy to see Brethren at either end of each leg of his walk, and for anyone to join him for part or all of any leg, or to sponsor him.
