MBF Walk (A Message from the PPGM) - 6th May 2017

I would like to thank everyone for their very kind support and sponsorship of the Walk in London last Saturday 6th May . An enormous amount was raised overall for the Mark Benevolent Fund which will certainly greatly enhance the work they do both in the wider community and with members. At present the total from the Berkshire province is £3525 and the overall total is over £330K!!

It was well organised by Grand Lodge, the Province of London and also for the Berkshire Province by our Director of Cermonies, Steve. Very many thanks to him and the other walkers , Jim & Sue Dance, Paul Wilding and of course Jackie Berkshire.
It was a good day for walking , not too hot , and Milo enjoyed himself . It was his first time on the underground so that was a bit scary and also he had never seen an escalator before! Riding that was interesting, jumping on and off took a bit of encouraging and he wanted to walk down/up with his legs in the 'braced' position! The crowds in St James's Park were a bit confusing and he lost his way once or twice, but he was soon back in normal mode with several dips in the Serpentine (and any other water!) on the way round. Although a couple of hours walk is shorter than he is used to he did snooze on the train home! A great day was had by all.

Thanks and kind regards Peter Sands & Milo
